Why Change the Cutter Bar Offerings?
We found out that more isn’t always better – the number one question we get was: “what bar size is right for me”.
Our old lineup had a Small (3.5 ft), Medium (4.5 ft), Medium/Large (5.5 ft), and Extra Large (7.5 ft).
The problem was, everything was only spaced about a foot apart – which actually made it more confusing, not less. The sizes were just too close together. On top of that, a lot of customers who bought the Small size (42” ProCut 13) ended up calling back wishing they had gone bigger. Bluntly – a 42” cutter is just too small, even for what we called our “small” size.

Our new sizes reflect what customers have been asking for. A 48in cutter bar is a great multi-purpose length bar that can be used on a variety of sub-compact, compact, utility tractors. There is a larger degree of separation between bar sizes, which allows upgrading if the application demands it.
Are these the only sizes that Agrishield makes?
No – these are just our commonly stocked / standard sizes. These are the ones we keep in regular production and available off the shelf.
We’re constantly building custom sizes as well. Anything in 6” increments (3 ft, 3.5 ft, 4 ft, 4.5 ft, 5 ft, etc.) is doable, since commercial ag customers often need specific lengths for their canopy setup.
Custom sizes don’t come with a custom price tag – everything is still priced roughly per foot. The only tradeoff is they’re less available and typically come with a longer lead time.
I have a previous generation, will I still receive support?
100%
Like we mentioned above, these “new” standard sizes aren’t actually new – they’re just the models we’re keeping more readily available off the shelf. We still fully support and build a wide range of bar lengths. All parts, documentation, etc. are 100% supported across every cutter bar size.
