THE MOST VERSATILE CUTTER ON THE MARKET

"This Cutter is worth the wait. It can handle a number of different jobs from cutting around my pond and ditches to trimming overhanging limbs. It is a very well made cutter. I picked this cutter over others being advertised because of the heavy duty construction. I can’t say enough about Andrew and the customer service you receive before and after the sale . I give it 5 stars!!".

Why do ECO models have smaller cutting capacity?
ECO models use a lower-flow hydraulic motor to match tractors in the 3–5 GPM range. Lower available flow = less cutting torque. No matter what competitors claim or what sickle design is used, a 3–5 GPM (≈50cc) motor at rated pressure will not consistently cut 1.5”. That’s why standard ProCut models require higher flow (5–7 GPM) to generate the torque needed for higher cutting capacity.

Standard hay sickle – Herschel USA-Made 🇺🇸 ranked #1 (of 82) in our limb-cutting tests.

Easy Blade Replacement – Replace each blade with 2 bolts. Can resharpen if dull.

Guard Protection – Black guards protect the reciprocating sickle blades, 1 1/2″ cut capacity

Heavy Duty Steel Drive –  Upgraded Geroler Motor with high pressure shaft seal

External Bearing Support – Overbuilt 1.75in sealed outrigger bearing for handling high radial loads

Advanced Spring Cushioning Pushrod – Absorbs impact & extends blade life. A must for limb cutting.

Premium Crary Hold Downs – USA-Made 🇺🇸 , google them, they are best in industry.

Build Quality – We build in sizes that last. Don’t buy an undersized sheet metal product.

ProCut - Mounting Systens

What are the differences between the mounts?

  • Same core design, same features.
  • Pros of the Bucket Clamp Mount:
More universal, can fit on multiple tractors/skid/excavator – anything with a bucket. Can get extra side offset as bucket is wider than quick attach plate.

  • Pros of the Quick Attach Mount:
More compact set up, better visibility + less bouncing during operation with bucket removed. Quick attach mounting & removal is easier + overall a more rigid setup due. If your FEL has a quick attach mount, we highly this mount. 99% of the time, it’s worth the increase in cost.

How strong is the breakaway spring on the heavy duty bucket mount? Quality of the mount?

Very strong. It can not be used as a way to ‘walk-around’ a post or solid object, the spring is meant for failsafe protection in case accidentally running into an solid object while operating. Our breakaway and mount are much more heavy duty than the other solutions we have seen on the market, heavy duty enough that we are able to use the same set up for orchard applications with trimmer bars 7ft and longer.

We list 1.5″ as the cutting capacity, but the ‘MAX’ depends on a number of factors, three biggest contributors are:

  1. How hard is the cutting material?

  2. How thick or dense is the canopy?

  3. How sharp are your blades?

  • At our ranch, we have cut soft material up to 1.75″, but on the other hand have been limited to 1.25″ cut for harder wood. The material drastically impacts the max cutting thickness.
  • Canopy density also plays a huge factor. Making a single 3/4″ cut is straightforward – but when hedging dense canopies, you often need to shear through multiple limbs at a time. This can overload the bar. Slowing down the tractor speed down in dense canopies helps by not forcing the bar to make simultaneous limb cuts.
  • Lastly, dull blades significantly increase cutting pressure, to cut near maximums please make sure to monitor the blade quality.

The tractor hydraulic pressure relief is the cutter bar failsafe – trying to cut too large or hard of a limb will cause a temporary pressure spike. The motor will stall, as it does not have the pressure needed to finish the cut. Increasing the tractor pressure will result in additional cutting capacity (max of 2500 psi)

Constantly tripping the pressure relief is not recommended but will not dramatically damage the bar components. At worst, you will chip/expedite the sickle blade wear,  For safest operation, when you trip pressure relief, stop, backup, and reproach cut (if its still within capacity). See video below:

Yes not a problem, we assemble all bars to be right hand mounted (from driver POV) so its closer to loader valve side.

The bar can be moved to the other side at any time but slight rearranging is needed. Please reach out to us ahead of time if you would like it arranged for the left side as we are happy to do that in advance. For all customers, please refer to the manual how to accomplish this correctly & hassle free.

The ProCut unit has a manually adjustable angle adjustment  (2 bolts), for a unit with hydraulic angle adjustment, see our upgraded ProCut Plus. Due to weight, this is not available as a Bucket Clamp Mount, only for Quick Attach Mounts.

ProCut Plus+

Max offset of 22in. See drawing below.

The full telescoping tube length is 30″, we recommend leaving 8-10″ sleeved.

Rear remotes are the most recommended and most common connection method. Simply connect the pressure and return hoses to one set of rear remotes and operate the tractor lever to provide continuous flow.

Why we prefer factory rear remotes:

  1. Full access to tractor’s available flow(no need to check line sizes, plumbed for full tractor flow)
  2. Better heat management using tractors normal return path – Returns oil through the tractor’s normal path, utilizing the reservoir, filtration, and oil cooler (if equipped)
  3. More stable continuous flow – Designed for hydraulic implements; many support detented positions and smooth flow control
  4. No interference with loader operation – Typical flow path is Pump → Loader Valve → Rear Remotes → Return → Tank. Loader valve is upstream of rear remotes, ensuring full loader control & priority

How is constant flow proided?

  • Manual hold – Control Lever: The operator holds the control lever in position by hand during operation.

Note: Some customers choose to use a simple “mechanical assist,” such as a bungee  to help maintain lever position. This is a common and workable approach; however, mechanical assist methods are not self-canceling. Operators must remain attentive and disengage flow if system pressure limits are reached. If left engaged while pressure is bypassing, excess heat can be generate. Lehmans terms: Use common sense & don’t leave the unit unattended and bungee corded.

  • Self-canceling detent:

You, or a dealer can install self-canceling detent  (similar to a float function) allows the lever to stay engaged automatically and disengage if system pressure exceeds a preset limit. Detented controls are the most convenient option, but they are not a requirement. For longer /  commercial jobs (8+ hours), detented controls are more strongly recommended to reduce operator fatigue.

ProCut units are 3rd function compatible – both diverter and true 3rd function set ups. Third function hydraulics are a very common and effective way to run the ProCut, especially on tractors already equipped for grapples or other front-mounted hydraulic attachments. Simply connect the pressure and return hoses to your third function couplers and use the native joystick buttons control to operate the cutter.

Why use a 3rd function:

  1. Clean hose routing – Designed for front attachments, reducing hose length and routing complexity
  2. Widely available – Many tractors are already equipped with a 3rd function for grapples

How is constant flow proided?

  • Manual hold – Joystick Button: The operator holds the button on the joystick during operation to provide continuous flow to the cutter bar.

Note: Some customers choose to use a simple “mechanical assist,” such as a button zip tie / clamp  to help maintain lever position. This is a workable field solution, but it is not self-canceling. Operators must remain attentive and disengage flow if system pressure limits are reached. If left engaged while oil is bypassing, excess heat can be generate. Lehmans terms: Use common sense & don’t leave the unit unattended and zip tied/engaged.

  • Maintained / Constant Flow

  1. True Third Function Valve – contact 3rd function provider/installer about installing a maintained switch for constant flow. Solutions vary. See – Summit Hydraulics Maintained Switch Box -unplug current joystick (leave joystick attached) plug-in and mount a maintained switch. Affordable and Easy way for constant flow.
  2. Diverter Third Function – contact 3rd function provider, lever detent + maintained switch box is needed. Much more difficult.

**True 3rd Function vs Diverter Valve – which do I have?**

The ProCut can also be powered by temporarily using your loader’s tilt (curl/dump) function.  This is a simple and effective option for tractors that do not have rear remotes or a 3rd function installed. Simply unplug curl/tilt hoses at the loader valve, connect the ProCut hoses and operate the  same loader tilt controls (left/right joystick) to run the cutter.

This method is great for low usage scenarios and/or lowest entry cost method. Some users want to try the unit out before investing in additional remotes – you can always upgrade controls later.

Why use the tilt function:

  • Immediate compatibility – No need to install rear remotes or a 3rd function

Main Tradeoffs:

  • Loss of Loader Tilt Function – The same circuit that controls bucket tilt is used to power the cutter. While operating the ProCut, the bucket will no longer tilt but will hold its position. Loader lift (up/down) remains fully functional.
  • Connection inconvenience – Hoses must be plugged and unplugged when switching between tilt and cutter use. This can become inconvenient if the ProCut is used frequently.

Note: The tilt function is not required to operate the ProCut, but it can be helpful for fine positioning. When raising or lowering the cutter to extreme positions, the angle of the bucket and cutter bar will change, and tilt adjustment can improve control.

How is constant flow proided?

  • Manual Hold – Joystick: The operator holds the joystick in the curl or dump position during operation to provide continuous flow to the cutter bar.

Detented positions are generally not recommended for this setup. Using the loader tilt circuit is typically an occasional solution, and customers planning frequent or long-duration use should consider installing a true 3rd function instead.

Skid Steer/Track Loader Compatibility

  • Standard Flow Ports (12-18gpm) – Skid Steer Compatibility
Easy to accommodate – A larger hydraulic motor to operate in the 8-11gpm range needs to be installed. Please call us to order this – or reference ‘higher flow motor for skid steer’ in the order notes when placing online.
  • High Pressure (2800psi+)- Skid Steer Compatibility
My skid steer has 12-18gpm but more than 2800psi? We recommend adding our ProCut – Flow Control Valve (see accessories) which has built in pressure relief.
  • High Flow (18gpm+)
Our ProCut is not ‘off the shelf’ compatible with 18gpm+ high flow ports. In order to run off high flow ports, implement hoses would need to be increased + additional flow control valves need to be installed. Please contact us for this.

Hose Kit Returns

Each Agrishield hose kit is custom assembled for your order, including the hose lengths, fittings, and couplers. Because hydraulic hose assemblies are high-pressure safety components, hose kit sales are considered final. Once a hose kit has been shipped, we cannot verify its condition or safely restock it for another customer.

If you’re unsure which hose kit or couplers you need, give us a call before ordering, we’re happy to help.

Agrishield reserves the right to approve returns or replacements under special circumstances at our sole discretion.

Need different couplers?

Our hose kits come with the most common couplers for each setup (rear remotes, 3rd function, skid steer, etc.), but we can supply a wide range of fitting types and sizes – hydraulic coupler chart pdf

If you order an Agrishield Hose Kit, we’ll customize the couplers at no extra charge. After placing your order, submit the couplers you need using the form below. Not sure what you have? Use the same form to send photos or part numbers, and we’ll match them for you.

Works better than expected! Overgrown roads on a pine plantation. Cut about 10 miles worth of trails. Worked wonderful. White and red pine branches cut really up to 1” consistently. No cutter issues at all. The universal quick attach plate worked well. Ran on a John Deere 4600 tractor.

I have pro cut 15 and I’ve used it recently for about six or eight hours to cut along trails and roads. I have it on a 4 series John Deere tractor. Very easy to assemble and use. I have used at angle from 90° vertical 30° 45° horizontal and minus 15 degrees on bank. I do not have the hydraulic motor to adjust the angle. I adjusted manually, but it’s really not a big deal to adjust. It works amazing – with with the ability to use the bucket to raise lower and tilt. I can cut almost anything just the way I want in ways that were impossible before manually or with a brushcutter/Bushhog.. the folks at Agrishield were really helpful in the selection process and any post purcgphase support. Excellent made in USA piece of equipment. I highly recommend

This is one of those tools I should have picked up years ago. It worked great cleaning up the encroaching growth on the sides of a mile and a half road. I have more roads and trails to clean up yet and the blades are still sharp with no damage. I only wish I got the taller one but a it’s simple enough to fabricate a different bar to raise it up a couple feet I did do one modification to provide better clamping as it kept rotating down because the clamping ears were spreading out, works perfect now

I cut a lot of tall weeds and grass. The cutting bar angle iron with the lip facing up it would always plug up. I flipped everything over so the angle bar lip is now facing down. It works great now. May this could be an option when ordering.

I ordered a ProCut 21 with SSQA plate on July 7th and was told there was a 10 week lead time, but reviews I had read and videos I watched told me it would be worth the wait. Order was shipped from California on Sept. 17th and arrived at my place in Alabama on Sept. 24th. The cutter was well packaged and suffered zero damage on the long cross country trip. Assembly was simple and straightforward with the provided instruction manual, and I was up and running in no time. This thing is overbuilt from top to bottom and very heavy duty. I was able to cut every trail and field edge on our 120 acre property in a day! It normally takes me and my wife multiple weekends with a chainsaw, pole saw, and manual trimmers. This thing cut every limb I pointed it at, and when I was finished using it and giving it a looking over I found the cutter teeth to be pristine with no nicks, chips, or gouges. The only minor gripe I have is the two bolts that allow the cutter to be adjusted from straight up to horizontal needed to be retightened during use a couple times. Not a big deal. This is one of the few things I’ve bought recently that greatly exceeded expectations.
